System Function T

⎕T - Return tick count since the operating system was started

The ⎕T system function returns the tick count in units of seconds of the running system. The precision of the result depends upon the operating system and underlying hardware.

⎕T is a niladic function, so it accepts no arguments.

For example, here's an idiom for measuring the execution time of an expression. Replace ... with the expression to be timed: ⎕T-(...)⊢⊢⎕T

      ⎕T-(((¯2+2*63x)/1)⍳0 1)⊢⊢⎕T
0.00004204447031952441
      ⎕T-⎕T
¯0.0000031892559491097927

As the above examples illustrate, ⎕T typically provides a very precise way of measuring execution time.

Note: T is a niladic form system function, you cannot assign a value to it.
