APL = A Programming Language according to Kenneth Iverson. Some call it Array Programming Language, but I don't think that's standard, though I've not been around the APL world since college which was <mumble> years ago. Let's see...the last big APL event I attended was a demonstration of the brand-new, just introduced, spiffy-keen IBM 5100 (be still my beating heart!).
