New page

APL stands for A Programming Language. NARS stands for Nested Array Research System. I first learned APL from Howard Peele as a high school senior at New Trier West High School in 1968. I edited the Decus APL SIG newsletter, The Special Character Set, in the mid 1980's. I published 3 articles in Vector, The Journal of the British APL Assosiation. "Import/Export and the Wealth of Namespaces," Jan 1997, Vector Vol. 13 No.3. "Is APL a Team Sport?" Oct 1995, Vector Vol. 12 No. 2. "Tilting at Windmills: a New Attack on Nested Arrays" Oct, 1995, Vector, Vol. 12 No. 2. I worked in APL professionally from 1978 to 2010. I am interested in adapting APL interpreters to us graphics hardware for parallel processing.
