<apll>∅</apll> is a fixed-precision Floating Point NaN. <apll>∅r1</apll> and <apll>∅x</apll> are both multi-precision Rational NaNs. <apll>∅v</apll> is a multi-precision Floating Point NaN.

Arithmetic on NaN returns NaN unchanged. The only operation on a NaN which returns other than NaN is equality and inequality.
